Who we are and what this policy covers
Kaielian develops CueStitch, an iPhone and iPad app for importing a script, rehearsing a role with on-device voices, keeping notes and, with Pro, recording a self-tape. This policy explains how information is handled when you use the app. Contact us at hi@kaielian.com.
This policy covers the app. Visiting our support and legal pages is covered separately by the website privacy policy.
Your scripts, recordings and settings
The app processes scripts and source pages you import, scanned or photographed pages, pasted text, character names, scene structure, notes, bookmarks, review marks, pronunciation rules, role setups, line recordings, self-tape videos and rehearsal preferences on your device. Text recognition in scanned pages and photos is performed on the device.
Projects and preferences are stored in the app’s local storage. We do not operate a server that receives your scripts, original pages, notes, recordings or videos. A file leaves the app only in the situations described below.
Camera, microphone, speech and Photos
The camera is used when you choose to scan script pages or open the self-tape preview. The microphone is used when you choose to record a line, record a self-tape or start automatic cueing. You can refuse or later change these permissions in iOS Settings. Features that need them will then be unavailable, and manual rehearsal can continue without them.
Automatic cueing uses Apple’s speech recognizer only after you start it. Recognition is required to remain on the device. The app does not fall back to a cloud speech service and does not keep a continuous recording of that listening session. It uses the recognition result to follow the current line. Availability depends on the script language and on-device support on your device. A countdown or timed gap does not listen in order to decide that you have finished speaking.
Line recordings and self-tape audio are saved locally only when you choose to record them. System voices are generated on the device. If iOS needs to download a voice, that download is handled by Apple under Apple’s privacy policy. The app does not send your script to a speech service we operate.
The app does not ask for access to your entire photo library. Choosing Save to Photos for a video requests permission to add that video. Importing an image uses the system picker or Files and is limited to the items you select. You can change the add-to-Photos permission in iOS Settings.
iCloud and copies you choose to make
This version does not upload scripts, original pages, notes, recordings or videos to iCloud. Settings includes a personal iCloud sync screen, but this build has no iCloud container configured. Sync cannot be turned on, and the app does not create a CloudKit container or send a project to iCloud. If a later version offers optional sync to your private iCloud account, this policy will be updated before that processing begins.
Copies you make yourself are separate. Exporting a backup or PDF, sharing a file, printing, or saving a video to Photos or to a location you pick in Files sends that result to the destination you choose. If you select iCloud Drive or another provider, that provider handles the file under its own terms. A backup of the whole device made by iOS is controlled in system settings, not by CueStitch.
Apple and RevenueCat purchases
CueStitch Pro is a one-time in-app purchase. Apple handles payment; we do not receive your card details. The app uses RevenueCat to load offers, validate purchases and restore Pro access. RevenueCat is initialized when purchasing is configured and may contact its service when you open the app, even before you buy.
Purchase processing uses a generated app user identifier, purchase and transaction records, product and entitlement status, and technical information needed to communicate with the service. The app does not provide RevenueCat with your scripts, notes, recordings, videos or email address. We use purchase records to provide and restore Pro access, resolve purchase issues and understand purchase activity. See RevenueCat’s privacy policy.
Feedback and email support
If you choose to email us, we receive your email address, message and anything you attach. The feedback draft also includes the app version and build, iOS version, device model, selected language, whether Pro is active, and the RevenueCat app user ID. It does not attach your script, recordings or videos. You can read the draft in the app and edit the email before it is sent. The app does not send feedback by itself.
We use this information to answer questions and investigate problems. If you leave the app user ID in a message about a purchase, we may use it to locate that purchase record. You can delete the ID before sending. Please avoid payment details and script material you do not need us to see.
Why information is used
Local information is used to import, rehearse, review and export the work you request. Purchase information is used to fulfill and verify purchases, maintain entitlements and prevent misuse. Support information is used to respond to you. Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we rely on performance of our agreement, legitimate interests in support and service integrity, your consent when required, and compliance with legal obligations. System permission controls remain available regardless of these bases.
Tracking and disclosure
The app contains no advertising SDK, advertising identifier collection, or separate general usage analytics or remote crash-reporting SDK. We do not sell personal information or use it for cross-app advertising tracking. Purchase activity handled by RevenueCat is distinct from the contents of your scripts and recordings.
Information leaving the app is limited to the purchase services and destinations described above, support you choose to send, and any disclosures required by law or necessary to protect legal rights. We do not share your scripts or recordings with RevenueCat.
Retention, deletion and backups
Projects, notes, recordings, videos and settings remain on the device until you delete them or delete the app. Moving a project to Recently Deleted keeps it available to restore until you remove it permanently. Storage Management can clear generated voice audio. It does not delete your scripts, your own recordings, videos or backups. iOS Delete App removes the app’s local data; Offload App retains its documents and data.
Videos already saved to Photos, files you exported, printed copies and device or cloud backups are separate copies. Delete them in Photos, Files, with the person you shared them with, or in the backup service you use.
Support messages and purchase records are kept only as needed for the purposes above, legal obligations and resolving disputes. Deleting the app does not automatically remove Apple or RevenueCat transaction records, and it does not request a refund. Contact us to ask about deletion of support information or an identifiable purchase-related record. Legal retention and the need to restore a purchase may limit what can be erased.
Security and service locations
The app uses the iOS app sandbox and system file protection for saved records. These measures reduce risk but cannot guarantee complete security. Protect your device with a passcode, and review the services you use for sharing and backup.
Purchase services and email providers may process information outside your country, including in the United States. Their policies describe their processing practices. Where applicable law requires safeguards for transfers we arrange, we will use the required safeguards.
Your choices and rights
You control the camera, microphone, speech recognition and Photos permissions, what you record, and what you export or email. Depending on applicable law, you may also have rights of access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability or objection, a right to withdraw consent where processing relies on it, and a right to complain to a relevant supervisory authority.
For information we hold, write to hi@kaielian.com. We may ask for information reasonably necessary to verify your request. Do not send passwords or payment-card details. We cannot retrieve or erase content that exists only on your device. See privacy choices for practical steps.
Children’s privacy
CueStitch is not specifically directed to children. We do not knowingly collect children’s personal information through support or purchase services contrary to applicable law. If a child may have provided personal information to us, contact us so we can address it. A parent or guardian should supervise use and purchases where required.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy when features or information handling change, including if optional iCloud sync becomes available. The effective date on this page identifies the current version; material changes will be communicated as required by applicable law. Privacy questions can be sent to hi@kaielian.com.
