Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how Kaielian (“we”, “us”) handles information when you use Hushtime on iPhone, iPad, and Mac (the “App”). We built the App to collect as little data as possible.

Information we collect
- Content you create. Entries, settings and files you create in Hushtime are stored on your device. We do not have access to them.
- Account information. If you create an account, we store your email address (or the private relay address provided by Sign in with Apple) and an account identifier so we can sync your data and keep your account secure.
- Purchases. Payments are processed by Apple. We never receive your payment card details — only information about the purchase itself (such as product, date and subscription status) so we can unlock features.
- Usage data. Anonymous or pseudonymous information about how the app is used, such as which screens are opened. It is not used to identify you.
- Diagnostics. Crash reports and performance data (device model, OS version, app version) that help us fix problems.
- Support messages. If you email us, we receive your email address and anything you choose to include in your message.
Device permissions
The App asks for permission before accessing the following. You can change these at any time in the iOS Settings app.
- Notifications — to deliver reminders and alerts you set up. Notifications are scheduled on your device.
How we use information
- Provide, maintain and sync the features of the app;
- Process purchases and restore them on your devices;
- Understand usage, fix bugs and improve performance;
- Respond to your questions and support requests;
- Protect the app and its users, and comply with legal obligations.
Third-party services
Hushtime uses the following service providers. They process data only to provide their service to us:

The App is distributed through the App Store, which are provided by Apple under the Apple Privacy Policy.
Tracking and advertising
We do not track you across apps and websites owned by other companies, and we do not use the advertising identifier (IDFA).
The App does not show ads.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Data retention and deletion
- Content stored only on your device is deleted when you delete the App.
- You can delete your account and its data at any time from within the App. We delete account data within 30 days.
- Analytics and diagnostic data is kept only as long as needed for the purposes above, according to each provider’s retention settings.
- Support emails are kept as long as needed to help you, and deleted on request.

Security
We use industry-standard safeguards, including encryption in transit, and rely on Apple’s platform security for data stored on your device and in iCloud. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we work hard to protect your information.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example in the EU, UK or California), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
To make a request, email hi@kaielian.com. We will respond within the time required by law (usually within 30 days). You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Children’s privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
International data transfers
Our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Where required, transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version on this page and update the effective date. For significant changes, we will also let you know in the App.
